A stepmother's rulebook that begins with a ban on phone calls
With the father away for a week, the house belongs to a stepmother and her adult stepson, fresh from college. She welcomes him warmly, then mentions a few rules for the week. Meanwhile, his girlfriend is already planning a visit for the next day. The premise is a contest of wills inside one house, with a clock running.
Watching episode 1 with subtitles on, I saw the first rule turn out to be plain obedience. She invites him to join her by the hot tub, and he stalls while phoning his girlfriend. Rule two bans calling her that day, and his protest that she is his stepmother gets nowhere. The episode closes with a ten-minute deadline, so the whole tension is free to sample.
