On his first night as manager of a grand hotel, a man realizes he is the only man working the floor. Each room-service call leads to a guest with her own plans for his shift. Episode 1 is open on Candy.ai without an account, and episode 2 needs a free one.
One desk, many doors and a first night on the job
The setup is a workplace story with a revolving cast. The night manager runs the front desk of a grand hotel. Room service falls to him because no other man is on shift. Every door he knocks on introduces a new guest. The manager, his coworkers and every guest are all adults. The series card gives no more detail, so this page stops at episode 1.
In episode 1, as I watched it, the narrator admits he did not expect room service to be part of the job. A coworker notes how tense he looks, Sloane is called upstairs, and he is told to hold the desk. Then room 808 orders the evening's special, and the special turns out to be him. That pattern of one call per door tells you how the series is built.
