My Roommates Made a Bet
Phone-tested by Ralph H. · Oct 30, 2026
A broke newcomer answers an ad for a cheap room and finds two roommates betting on who wins his attention first. He overhears the wager and decides to play along. Guests can watch episode 1 on Candy.ai, and a free account adds episode 2. After that, each paid episode costs 12 tokens.
The cheapest room in town comes with a wager
He is short of money and takes the room that costs the least. It turns out to be shared with two confident women who like to tease. He and the two women are all adults, and the bet is a grown-up game. They bet between themselves on who will win his attention first, and the loser covers his rent. The twist, set up in episode 1, is that he hears every word.
In episode 1, as I read the subtitles, the first meeting is awkward. The ad promised chill roommates, and the household proves more relaxed than he expected. Then he realizes they are betting on him like a prize. He decides to play along as well, and the episode ends with him one step ahead. If a lead who plays along sounds fun, episode 1 is a free test.
Five roommate titles, one price
You pay nothing for the opener, and the second episode wants only a free account. Three paid episodes at 12 tokens apiece make a 36-token total. That comes from the Candy.ai card on 2026-10-30. It is under half of a Premium month's 100 tokens.
Five titles on Candy.ai mention roommates, and this is one of them. Two others with the same five-episode, 12-token shape are One Bed With My Roommate and My Roommates are Thirsty! So price will not separate them, but the premise will. This one has the overheard bet, which gives it its own hook.
Who should sign the lease, and where to begin
It suits you if you like playful comedies where the lead stays a step ahead. Episode 1 gives him that edge by the final minute, which makes the series easy to enjoy. If you want a slow, serious tone, the setup is deliberately light.
Try the free opener on Candy.ai, where no account is needed. Register free for episode 2, and finishing the run then costs 36 tokens. Choose from six subtitle languages, without Japanese, before the overheard wager begins.
