You meet your new stepsister, Brooklyn, for the first time when you stay for the summer. Your father is out of town, which leaves you in a house with her, her stepmother and a friend of hers. All three take a shine to you, and the household has other ideas than quiet evenings. Every character in the story is an adult.
In episode 1, as I watched it, Brooklyn learns that the stepbrother she has never met is coming to stay. She has already settled how the two weeks will go. When he arrives she greets him with a compliment about being smart. Someone suggests keeping him in the dark and letting him believe it was all his idea. The episode closes on a remark about the summer heat. It is a setup episode, so judge it on tone rather than on plot.
